The International Conference “Musica Concentrationaria”, organized by Associazione Musikstrasse, in collaboration with Regione Lazio and Università degli Studi di Roma Tre, took place on October the 29th 2007, in the Biblioteca e Museo Teatrale del Burcardo, in Rome. During the event, the documentary “Musica Concentrationaria”, produced by Associazione Musikstrasse, directed by Ermanno Felli, on a subject by Francesco Lotoro, was presented in world premiere. Before and after the showing of the DVD, the main experts in concentrationary music literature and the representants of Associazione Musikstrasse and UCEI (Union of The Italian Jewish Communities) held their lectures.

During the first panel, the speakers were Daniela Contino ( Regione Lazio), Claudia De Benedetti (Ucei), Bret Werb (US Holocaust Memorial, Washington) and Francesco Lotoro (pianist)., In the second panel Guido Fackler (Università di Wuerzburg) gave a general vision of the Phenomenology of the concentrationary music literature. Damien Top (Fondation Albert-Roussel) spoke about French musician in German military camps, while Elena Makarova’s (writer and researcher, Jerusalem) was focused on music in Terezìn. In the end, the touching speech by David Meghnagi on the limit condition.
